TAMPERE

Shopping:

You can find several bigger or smaller stores just in the centre of Tampere.

Ratina shopping centre – also a lot of fast food type restaurants

https://www.ratina.fi/

Koskikeskus – super close to Ilves hotel!

https://www.koskikeskus.fi/

Stockmann – traditional shopping centre just next to railway station (you can find one also at Helsinki centre!)

Sokos – also groceries at the bottom floor! Hämeenkatu 21, 33200 Tampere

Smaller and cute:

Tallipiha – visit for the chocolate and the atmosphere!

Kehräsaari – close to Ilves hotel, the atmosphere and cute shops.

Miela store at Hämeenkatu, Finnish design clothes etc.

Flea markets:

Flea markets / vintage stores are really popular in Finland / Tampere!

  • Bueno: central, mostly clothes
  • Radiokirppis: central, a big one, a bit crowdy
  • Lasten Into: located in the Ratina shopping centre, for children
  • Oldie: this is a nice one, more like a boutique than a flea market

Restaurants:

Fine dining: Ravinteli Bertha, Ravintola Näsinneula, Bistro C

With a nice, central view: Ravintola Pons, Ravintola Periscope, Tampella; and for nice drinks: Torni hotel restaurant top floor = Moro Sky Bar

Sushi restaurant - Helmi Izakaya – Basement floor, Hämeenkatu 17. Hard to find but really nice sushi! Also a good one at Kauppahalli - Sushibar Umami.

Something else:

For a pizza cravings - Pizzeria Napoli

2h+k – nice snails!

Boulangerie Marco at Tullintori shopping centre near the railway station – a charming bakery and a good, but really popular lunch (be early)!

People of Tampere like their wings and mustamakkara. You can find wings at Siipiweikot restaurant and mustamakkara (a type of a sausage) at Kauppahalli.

So please visit Tampereen Kauppahalli, also for the atmosphere (at Hämeenkatu near Sokos) – and there is a famous Ravintola 4 vuodenaikaa restaurant. Pretty busy at lunch time!

Nice buffet lunch, super central: Milo’s

Super breakfast / brunch: Cafe Pispala

Visit this for Sunday vegetarian brunch: Muusa

… And many more

Nice places to visit:

Särkänniemi – a must visit for a tourist! There is a Näsinneula and the view is incredible!
