National Training Programme

 

EU-PROMENS is opening applications for a new multidisciplinary training program aimed at strengthening competencies in the fields of mental health care, education, social work and justice. This initiative empowers professionals with key skills and encourages cross-sectoral collaboration.

The training is based on the Cross-sectoral Competence Framework for Mental Health, developed on the basis of extensive research. It includes:

 

A two-day Basic Training on basic knowledge and cross-sectoral competencies in the field of mental health. Participants are supported in developing core competencies such as helping skills, mental health literacy and risk assessment, while developing communication skills and cross-sectoral collaboration, and promoting a systematic approach for sustainable mental health practice.

A one-day Advanced Training focused on multidisciplinary collaboration. Participants are supported to deepen their understanding of mental health policy and strategies for creating incentive systems, strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration, develop advanced team and leadership skills, and improve practices that promote self-care, resilience, and team well-being. The advanced training is intended for mental health professionals with at least 5 years of work experience.

Target group

Health professionals working in mental health sector (psychiatrists, family doctors, nurses, psychotherapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, clinical psychologists, specialised counsellors, work therapist, social workers; Teachers and educators working in the educational setting (educational workers working in schools, or other educational settings, youth centres, sports clubs, school counsellors); Social workers working in various community settings (community care canters, social care organizations/ services, refugee/ migrant/asylum seeker canters, elderly care centres); Professionals working in prisons and juvenile detention centres (social workers, clinical psychologists, etc.).

The local language of the country on advanced level.

Piloting in six countries in spring 2025, then expanding to 24 European countries in 2025 and 2026. Tentative event calendar see below.

Expenses

All travel and accommodation expenses are covered by the project.

    El Programa de Formación en Enfoque Multidisciplinar de la Salud Mental es una iniciativa estructurada de fortalecimiento de capacidades, dirigida a profesionales de la salud, la educación, el trabajo social y el sector justicia. Esta formación forma parte de la iniciativa EU-PROMENS, cuyo objetivo es:

    • Promover un enfoque multidisciplinar en el apoyo a la salud mental, dotando a los profesionales de diferentes sectores de las competencias necesarias para colaborar eficazmente.
    • Fomentar una comprensión compartida de la salud mental, mejorar el trabajo en equipo y fortalecer la capacidad de ofrecer una atención integrada, centrada en la persona, que aborde de manera holística los desafíos de salud mental.

    The national multidisciplinary training programme is organised in partnership with pro mente Upper Austria. pro mente Upper Austria provides 60 years of experience in caring and working for psychosocially disadvantaged people. With psychosocial support, in cooperation with clients and relatives, inclusion is promoted as participation in society. The aim is to enable disadvantaged people to have equal access in all areas of life.

    The trainings in Austria are organised in-person and will be held in local language.
